Daejeon Hana Citizen head coach Lee Min-sung (50) has predicted an offensive flurry.
Daejeon is set to host Suwon Samseong in the 21st round of the ‘Hana OneQ K League 1 2023’ at Daejeon World Cup Stadium at 7 p.m. on Sept. 9.
At the pre-match press conference, Lee asked his players to be aggressive and hunt for points, forgetting the disappointment of the 0-0 draw against FC Seoul in the 20th round of the league on the previous day.
Daejeon managed to take a point from the match in Seoul, but it was a frustrating offensive performance as they only managed one shot on target on the day, and the only shot on target was not on target.
Daejeon’s recent struggles on offense have resulted in three consecutive draws, scoring just two goals in their last three league games. Daejeon, who are eighth in the league (7 wins, 7 draws, 6 losses – 28 points) due to their recent inability to accumulate points, hoped to turn things around by taking three points against Suwon at home. 메이저사이트
“The last time we played Seoul, we didn’t have any shots on target,” Lee said, “We’re not doing well at home, and if we don’t create chances offensively, we’ll be in the mud. I think it’s time for us to stop playing so much,” he said, foreshadowing an offensive shift.
“The results of the last few games weren’t bad, but the fact that we didn’t do what we needed to do offensively put a lot of pressure on the players,” he said, adding, “The goal is to get rid of that and get three points at home.”
“The offense is important. We don’t have the strength to go on the counterattack while defending, and it’s hot, but it’s important to press from the top and create chances,” he said, emphasizing the offense.
“The club is making a lot of efforts to bring in new foreign players to help us rebound in the second half, so I hope we can showcase them soon,” he said.
