‘Lee Chan-wook goal’ Gyeongnam wins 1-0 away to Chungnam Asan… first win in four games

Gyeongnam FC overcame the Chungnam Asan FC jinx to keep its K League 2 title hopes alive.

Gyeongnam won the 29th round of the Hana OneQ K League 2 2023 away match against Chungnam Asan 1-0 at 7 p.m. at Yi Sunshin Sports Complex. The win snapped a three-game winless streak (one draw and two losses) and moved them to third place with 45 points. Chungnam Asan suffered their second straight defeat.

The home team lined up in a 3-4-3. Hafael-Aponza-Kang Joon-hyuk led the front three, while Kim Joo-sung, Park Se-jik, Kim Kang-kook, and Kang Joon-hyuk played in the flanks and midfield. The back four was Cho Yoon-seong, Lee Jae-sung, and Ho-in, with Moon Hyun-ho in goal.

The away team, Gyeongnam, lined up in a 4-4-2. Won Ki-jong and Lee Jong-un were paired up top, while Park Min-seo, Lee Kwang-jin, Song Hong-min, and Seol Hyun-jin played in the flanks and midfield. In the back, Lee Min-gi, Park Jae-hwan, Lee Chan-wook, and Woo Woo-sung defended, with Go Dong-min in front of the goal.

Desperate for an equalizer, Chungnam Asan continued to attack aggressively, but their finishing passes were not precise. Gyeongnam put Castro, Mo Jae-hyun, and Gleason on the offensive to put pressure on Chungnam Asan. In the end, it was a victory for Gyeongnam, who extended their lead.
