San Diego Padres pitcher Ha-Sung Kim (28) was fortunate to escape serious injury after being hit in the knee by a foul ball he hit during the game.
San Diego hosted the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., on April 26 (KST).
Kim started the game as San Diego’s seventh and third baseman, but in the second inning, while facing Jake Irvin, he was hit in the left knee by a foul ball.
He complained of severe pain and was eventually helped off the field by team staff. The bad part is that he was unable to walk off on his own. 스포츠토토
However, the x-rays he received after leaving the game showed that there was no fracture. It appears to be a simple bruise.
According to MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball, it is unclear if Kim will be able to play in the three-game series against the New York Yankees starting on the 27th.
However, they added that “he will not be placed on the disabled list,” meaning that he will be evaluated without being placed on the disabled list.
In an interview with MLB.com, Kim said, “It was really sore. I’ll have to see how I feel tomorrow (Nov. 27),” but was relieved to hear that it was diagnosed as a simple bruise.
Up to this point, Kim was batting .237 with five home runs, 16 RBIs, a .316 slugging percentage and a .697 OPS in 47 games this season.
