Ahn scored from the penalty spot for the first time in his three-year K League career. He showed his determination to finish, and his teammates gave him the opportunity. When asked about it, Ahn said, “That’s right. It’s the first time. The original kicker was Nilsson Junior, and (Lee) Jung-bin could also kick. Previously, I drew the penalty and gave it to Karyl, but this time I said I wanted to kick it. Ahn’s mother, who participated in the event, delivered a message of support for her son’s goal in the second half.
“My parents and relatives came,” says Ahn. They come to the stadium almost every home game, but today was different because they escorted me and walked on the field with me. It was motivating,” he said. When he shared his mother’s message of support, she replied, “I saw your picture in the halftime event. I’m glad you made it. I would have gotten in trouble if I didn’t,” he laughed.
